Title: Danny Michel TrioDate: 2013-03-09
Danny Michel “one of the finest and most charming songwriters to grace the stage” comes to the Mary Webb Centre on Saturday 9th March at 8.00pm. Sponsored by Crazy 8 Barn & Garden and by Spence Construction, the multiple Juno Award nominee has 10 albums to his credit. A renowned innovator, Michel has recorded in the Mayan ruins of Benque Viejo del Carmen (Black Birds Are Dancing Over Me). For “Sunset Seas” he invited fans to submit tracks and included some suggestions in the album. Known for his witty banter on stage, he has earned Stuart McLean’s accolade “Just Fabulous. He’s kind of like Paul Simon in the ‘rhymin Simon’ days.” This globetrotting musician comes to Highgate following an extensive German tour – most of them sold out. A five out of five star review in Eye Magazine says “Danny Michel has reached a point where his musical vocabulary is so broad, his songwriting/arranging chops so sharp, his guitar playing so
distinctive and his taste for the right sonic touch so impeccable that he can do whatever he wants and make it compelling”
