With over two decades on the road, Nova Scotia’s Dave Gunning has earned a reputation as one of Canada’s most engaging and respected folk singer-songwriters. A multiple East Coast Music Award and Canadian Folk Music Award winner, he’s known for his warm stage presence, razor-sharp wit, and songs that celebrate everyday heroes and hard truths. Gunning has shared the stage with legends like Ron Hynes, Rita MacNeil, and Matt Andersen, and remains deeply rooted in his home community of Pictou County. In June 2025, he travelled to Point Lonsdale, Australia to record Field Notes, his fifteenth studio album, a stripped-back and emotionally rich collection that gets to the heart of what he does best.
