Charlene McGill began her painting journey in 2003 after attending a local watercolour workshop. She has been painting almost daily ever since. Charlene’s approach to her art is through the eyes of a colourist! Her representational work is inspired by the impact of light and colour on the everyday objects that fill our lives. An award winning artist, her work has been accepted in a variety of juried exhibitions, including Eye for Art, Desmond Exhibition, Georgina World of Art, Ridgetown Art in the Park, Creative Catalyst Portrait Exhibition, CCP Design for Summer, CCP Fall Art Show, Chatham-Kent’s Tastefest and On the Edge.
Her recent work is held internationally in private collections in the United States, Canada, Australia, Belgium, France and England. Many of her paintings can be viewed at charmingart.org.
Retired from her full time job outside the home, she teaches Art from her studio, along with workshops at the Chatham-Kent Cultural Centre and the local Secondary School system. She is currently represented by ARTspace in Chatham, Ontario and the Mary Webb Centre in Highgate.
