Voiceprints Choir – Saturday December21, 2024

On Saturday evening, Dec. 21st the Mary Webb Centre for the Arts in Highgate was pleased to have the Voiceprints Choir from Glencoe perform an evening of a wide range of music from classical, gospel and spiritual to pop, jazz and Broadway plus the Stompin’ Tom classic “Hockey Song”, complete with an announcer, horns and period ending bell.  The choir was formed in 2006 when music director Jan Telfer recruited accompanist Mirah Simpson to form the community choir known as Voiceprints. At present, the choir has a wide range of musical experience and their ages vary from 16 to 90 with members from Chatham to London and Arcona to Rodney.

The audience paid a small admission price and also made monetary and food donations, split between the MWC and the Voiceprints choir, after expenses. The MWC is donating their half to the Ridgetown Food Bank and the choir is very generously donating their half to the Food Bank as well.

It was a lovely evening of music and friendship and the MWC very much appreciated the choir performing in Highgate. A wonderful way to celebrate the Christmas season. We are looking forward to their return.
