World Class Poetry Event

Poetry Reading / Music EveningSaturday, April 13, 2013
7:00pm – 9:00pm

The second major poetry reading-with-music took place on Saturday 13th April at 7.00pm.

The evening follows of a similar happening organized by Highgate-born author John B. Lee taking place the afternoon before in Port Dover. This is, as John says, “A world class event”.

The line-up includes authors

John B. Lee – Poet Laureate for Brantford and for Norfolk

Marty Gervais – Poet Laureate for Windsor

Sydney Lea – Poet Laureate for Vermont

Douglas Glover – winner of a Governor General’s Award for fiction

Joining them will be Canadian folk musician, composer, singer-songwriter Ian Bell – recipient of a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal and Chatham-born guitarist / writer Michael Schatte whose lyrics have been published in a recent poetry anthology.

On Friday 12th April the Mary Webb Centre welcomes a Windsor Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet as part of our 2012/2013 concert schedule.
