WHITEHORSE – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2025

On Sept. 20th, 2025 the Mary Webb Centre for the Arts in Highgate welcomed back for another presentation Whitehorse. Husband-and-wife duo Luke Doucet and Melissa McClelland have amazing voices. They started off the evening, with Luke only playing his harmonica, and both of them singing. Both play excellent guitar, with Luke very talented on his electric guitar. They sang an excellent song about Winnipeg where Luke grew up. An interesting song was titled “I want to make promises that I can keep” from their first album after COVID. The show continued with wonderful music through the second half.

Melissa, for some songs used a microphone in the shape on an old fashion hand held telephone, connected to her microphone stand that produced a very unique sound. They are very talented musicians and singers that certainly provided an excellent evening of entertainment. The audience was presented with an encore never seen at the MWC before. It was hard to see with the lights turned off, and Melissa and Luke asked for the dome lights to be turned off as well. They took their guitars and walked through the aisles of the Centre playing in the dark. The acoustics and ambient experience was extremely special and a perfect sign off for the night.

All in all, a fun night with lots of wonderful music
